WHAT HAVE BEEN ACCOMPLISHED:

JMEC has been structural engineer for preliminary and final design of a 4-story 15,000 SF building consisting of assembly hall, library, classrooms and offices.  Structural design was in accordance with UBC, and BART approval was required due to the adjacent existing BART tunnel.

The project included renovation of about 3,785 SF of existing church building to improve floor space.  Due to the glass curtain wall, a seismic steel moment frame was used in front of building.

The new building is constructed of masonry, steel and timber supported on mat foundation.
